DANGER for children
Packaging material is not a toy. Chil-
dren must not play with the plastic bags.
There is a risk of suffocation.
DANGER of electric shock due
to moisture
Protect the heating unit from moisture,
dripping and splashes.
Do not use the appliance in the open air
or near containers filled with water, e.g.
sinks.
Do not immerse the heating unit, the
power cable or the power plug in water
or any other liquid.
If the heating unit has fallen into water,
remove the power plug immediately. Do
NOT take out the appliance before un-
plugging. In this case, do not use the
appliance any more, but have it
checked by a specialist.
Never touch the heating unit with wet
hands.
DANGER of electrocution
Do not operate the appliance if it or the
power cable show signs of damage or
the appliance has been dropped.
Extension cables must be designed for
min. 10 amp.
Arrange the power cable and any ex-
tension cable so that nobody can tread
on them, trip or catch their foot.
Before connecting the appliance, check
that the temperature controller is set to
the “0” mark.
Connect the power plug only to a cor-
rectly installed, easily accessible socket
with an earthing contact with voltage
corresponding to the rating plate. The
wall socket must also be easily accessi-
ble after connection.
Take care that the power cable is not
damaged by sharp edges or hot surfac-
es. Do not wind the power cable
around the appliance but into the base
of the heating unit.
Even after it has been switched off, the
appliance has not been completely dis-
connected from the mains. To do this, re-
move the power plug.
When setting up the appliance, make
sure that the power cable is not trapped
or crushed.
When removing the power plug from
the wall socket, always pull the plug,
never the cable.
Disconnect the power plug from the wall
socket …
…if there is a fault,
… when you are not using the appliance,
before you clean the appliance and
during thunder storms.
Do not connect another appliance with
a high power consumption to a socket
on the same circuit. This way you will
avoid overloading the power network.
To avoid any risk, do not make modifi-
cations to the product. The power cable
must not be replaced by a non-special-
ist. Repairs must be carried out by a
specialist workshop or at the Service
Center.
DANGER of injury from burns
Danger to life from burns. Make sure
that children cannot pull the appliance
off the work surface by the power ca-
ble.
Danger from explosive deflagration.
Make sure you use oil that is fresh,
clean and suitable for a fondue. Old,
used or unsuitable oil may ignite even
at low temperatures. Should the oil
catch fire during the fondue, do not try
to put it out with water under any cir-
cumstances. Smother the fire with a
saucepan lid of appropriate size or a
woollen blanket.
