This appliance is not intended for use by individuals
(including children) with restricted physical, physio-
logical or intellectual abilities or deficiences in
experience and/or knowledge unless they are
supervised by a person responsible for their
safety or receive from this person instruction in
how the appliance is to be used.
Children should be supervised to ensure that
they do not play with the appliance.
Do not use an external timing switch or a separate
remote control system to operate the appliance.

Important
Always and only use freshly drawn mains water in
the kettle! Do not consume any water that is not
certified as potable. If you do, you are taking
a risk with your health!
Before using the appliance, check to ensure
that ...
the appliance, plug and power cable are in
a faultfree condition and...
the cable is completely unwound from the cable
winder

the cable is guided through the recess on the
base

all packaging materials have been removed
from the appliance.
Fill the appliance with water up to the MAX
marking on the scale and let it come to a full
boil once – as described in the next section.
Pour this water away after boiling it.
Rinse the kettle with clean water.
Fill the appliance once again with water up to
the MAX marking on the scale and then bring
it to the boil. Pour this water away also after
boiling it.
The appliance is now ready for use.
Note
If there is no or not enough water in the kettle, then the
appliance switches itself off automatically. Lift the
kettle from the base

and fill it with water to take
the appliance back into use.
