3. Items supplied
1 heating unit4
1 stainless steel pot2
1 splash guard1
8 fondue forks11
1 set of operating instructions
4. Using for the first
time
Remove all packing material.
Check whether all accessories are
present and undamaged.
Rinse the stainless steel pot2, the
splash guard1 and the fondue
forks11 with a mild detergent and dry
all parts with great care.
Place the appliance on a dry, flat, non-
slip surface. This surface should also be
heat-resistant and not liable to be dam-
aged by splashes of hot oil.
NOTE: When being used for the first time,
a small amount of smoke and a slight odour
may occur. This is due to the assembly mate-
rials used for the heating element and is not
a fault in the product. Ensure sufficient venti-
lation.
5. Power supply
DANGER TO LIFE from
scalding!
Make sure that children cannot pull
the appliance off the work surface
by the power cable3.
1. Before connecting the appliance, check
that the temperature controller6 is set to
the “0” mark.
2. Plug the appliance into a socket whose
voltage matches the rating plate.
6. Operation
DANGER of injury from
burns!
Danger from explosive deflagration.
Make sure you use oil that is fresh,
clean and suitable for a fondue. Old,
used or unsuitable oil may ignite even
at low temperatures. Should the oil
catch fire during the fondue, do not try
to put it out with water under any cir-
cumstances. Smother the fire with a
saucepan lid of appropriate size or a
woollen blanket.
The stainless steel pot2, splash guard1
and fondue forks11 become very hot
during a fondue. Make sure you protect
your hands, e. g. with oven gloves, and
only grasp the fondue forks11 by the
handle.
Danger of burns caused by splashes of hot
liquid when dipping food into the pot: dry
food off beforehand and protect hands
and forearms with oven gloves.
To prevent it from overflowing during
heating, the stainless steel pot2 should
not be filled beyond the upper mark in-
dicating the maximum filling level10.
1. Add oil, stock or cheese to the pot de-
pending on the intended use. The con-
tents must come between the two filling
level marks9 +10 in the pot.
2. Place the splash guard1 on the pot.
3. Oil and stock: turn the temperature con-
troller6 clockwise to the end stop to
heat the pot and its contents. All of the
red indicator LEDs8 light up. The appli-
ance will now heat up.
Cheese: turn the temperature control-
ler6 to one of the first red indicator
LEDs8 to melt the cheese carefully, stir-
ring as it melts. Increase or reduce the
setting depending on the way in which
the cheese you are using melts.
