Safety

This section provides you with important safety information regarding handling

of the appliance. The appliance complies with the statutory safety regulations.

Incorrect usage can lead to personal injury and property damage.

Basic safety instructions

For safe handling of the appliance, follow the safety information below:

■ This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with limited

physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or lack of experience and/or

knowledge unless they are supervised by a person who is responsible for their

safety, or received instructions from this person on how to use the appliance.

■ Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

■ Before use, check the appliance for visible external damage. Do not put into opera-

tion an appliance that is damaged. There will be the risk of a fatal electrical shock.

■ The appliance may no longer be used if there is any damage to the cable, to the

power supply unit, the housing or any other components.

■ Only have repairs carried out by authorised specialist companies or the Customer

Service department. Improper repairs can pose signiﬁ cant risks to the user. Warranty

claims also become void.

■ Do not use the appliance with defective cut length add-ons

or defective thinning

, since these may have sharp edges. There is a risk of personal injury!

■ Defective components must always be replaced with original replacement parts.

It can only be guaranteed that safety requirements are complied with if original

replacement parts are used.

■ Never operate the appliance unsupervised, and only in accordance with the

information on the nameplate.

■ Use only the power supply unit provided when using mains power.

■ Remove the power supply unit from the wall socket

- if a defect occurs,

- before cleaning the appliance,

- if you do not intend using the appliance for longer periods,

- after every use.

When removing, pull the power unit itself and not the cable.
