4.10 Call duration display
During an external call, the call duration is shown on the display:
“10:40” in the display means: 10
minutes and 40 seconds.
The call duration is shown in the display for a further two seconds after the end of the call.
4.11 Muting the microphone
Press the

display key to switch off the microphone during a call. You can now
talk freely without the caller on the
telephone hearing you. Press ‘Off
2
again to switch the
microphone back on.
4.12 Pause key (dial pause)
Press the pause key P

until a P appears in the display at the appropriate point if you wish
to insert a pause while you are dialling a number.
When you then dial this phone number (or select it from th
e redial list), the dialling pause
(approximately 3 seconds) is automatically dialled.
4.13 Using the alphanumeric keypad
Use the alphanumeric keypad to enter text. Press the appropriate alphanumeric key to select
a letter.
Info The following example relates to the English character set (ABC).
If, for instance, you press the ‘5’ number key, first the letter ‘J’ appears in the display. Press
the key again to enter a different character from this key.
Press the ‘2’ key once to select the letter ‘A’. If you wish to enter ‘A’ and then ‘B’, first press
the ‘2’ key once to select ‘A’. Then wait until the display of all the letters for the key pressed
(bottom left) goes out and press the ‘2’ twice to enter ‘B’. You can delete letters entered
incorrectly with the delete key

. The character in front of the cursor will be deleted.
All the characters in a string entered can be de
leted if you press and hold the delete key

upper and lower case letters. The mode is shown at the top right of the display by the letters
“abc” or “ABC”.
To change the character set from English (ABC) to
Latin (AÀÁ), Greek (
AB) or Russian

key and hold for 2 seconds.
Umlauts "Ä", "Ö" and "Ü" are found in the Latin character set.
4.14 Setting the ringer volume on the handset
You can adjust the ringer volume for an incoming call (internal or external) to one of 6 levels
(level 1 to 5 and ‘Off’).
If you select ‘Off’, the
icon appears in the display. The handset will not ring for an
incoming call. Level 5 is the highest level. (The telephone is set to level 3 by default.
