Preparation

Unpacking

♦ Remove all parts of the appliance and the operating instructions from the box.

♦ Remove all packing material.

WARNING

► Packaging material must not be used for playing with. Risk of suﬀ ocation.

Disposal of packaging

The packaging protects the appliance from damage during transport.

The packaging materials are selected according to their environmental friendliness

and disposal attributes - and are therefore recyclable.

Recirculation of packaging into the material ﬂ ow saves conserves raw materials

and reduces the amount of waste generated. Dispose of packaging material that

is no longer needed in line with the applicable local regulations.

NOTE

► If possible, keep the appliance's original packaging during the warranty

period so that, in the ev

ent of a warranty claim, you can pack the appliance

properly for its return.

Starting to use the appliance

WARNING - RISK OF INJURY!

► Always use nothing but fresh drinking water in the kettle! Do not consume

any w

ater that is not certiﬁ ed as potable. If you do, you are taking a risk

with your health!

Before starting to use the appliance, ensure that ...

– The appliance, power plug and power cord are in proper condition

and ...

– all packaging materials have been removed from the appliance.

1) Open the lid b

y pressing the release button 2 towards the handle and, at

the same time, lifting the lid upwards.

2) Fill the appliance with water up to the MAX mark and let it come to a full

boil once – as described in the next section.

3) After it has boiled, pour this water away.

4) Rinse the kettle 8 out with clean water.
