6.4 Melt existing fat
If the fryer already contains solidified fat
from an earlier frying/fondue session, it must
be melted in the fryer. Do this very carefully
so that the melting fat does not start to spit
or the fryer does not overheat.
1. Turn the temperature selector 11 as far
as it will go to the left: "MIN".
2. Insert the plug in a socket.
Caution! Ensure that you don’t damage
the fat container 6 with the fork.
3. Use a fork to prick a few holes in the fat
so that any steam formed can escape
more easily.
4. Close the lid 3.
5. Turn the temperature selector 11 to
"70".
The temperature indicator light 10 lights
up, and the appliance starts to heat up.
6. Let the fat melt.
7. Wait until the fat has completely melted.
7. Operating the appliance

“6.1 Preparations for frying” on
page 64).
2. Turn the temperature selector 11 to
"MIN".
3. Insert the plug in a socket.
4. Press the unlock button of the frying
lid 8.

7. If the fryer contains cold, solidified fat,
melt it first (see “6.4 Melt existing fat”
on page 65).
8. Set the temperature selector 11 to the
desired frying temperature.
The temperature indicator light 10 lights
up, and the appliance starts to heat up.
Refer to the pack of what you are frying
for the correct frying temperature.
To keep the oil or fat at the right
temperature, the thermostat
automatically switches the heating on
and off. You can see this by the
temperature indicator light 10 regularly
going on and off.
Note: We recommend that you heat the oil
for at least 10 to 15 minutes before you start
frying. Close the lid 3.
Note: You can leave the frying basket 2 in
the fryer during heating.
9. Press the unlock button of the lid 8.
The lid 3 will open.
Warning! When frying frozen
items, pay attention to Tip 2 (see
“4. Remove the bread or the
parsley with a slotted spoon. The
oil or fat has a neutral taste again.”
on page 68)to prevent the fat
spitting.
Caution! Please do not overfill the frying
basket 2. Take note of the food producer's
information regarding the optimal quantity
for frying. The items to be fried must always
be completely covered with oil or fat.
